Mistakes To Avoid When Tailoring Your Skincare Routine

Over Cleansing

Skincare starts with cleansing. It removes dirt, oil, and pollutants. Over-cleansing can dry, tighten, and irritate the skin. It can also damage the skin's moisture barrier.

Skipping Sunscreen

Avoiding sunscreen is a major skincare blunder. Sunscreen is essential to all skin care routines.

UV radiation from the sun accelerate skin aging, dark patches, fine lines, and wrinkles. Without sunscreen, skin's natural defense against UV radiation is compromised, putting it vulnerable to free radicals.

Over-Exfoliating

Overdoing it might damage skin. Harsh exfoliants can cause redness, itching, and burning. Over-exfoliation can cause dryness and dehydration. Exfoliate once or twice a week.

Applying Makeup in Wrong Order

It may seem insignificant, but how you apply skin care products matters. Layering items from thinnest to thickest is best.

Applying products out of order may reduce efficacy. A thick, creamy moisturiser will block water-based serum's active components from reaching the skin.

Sleeping with Makeup On

Makeup contains scents, preservatives, and colours that can irritate skin overnight. Heavy makeup can cause blackheads and breakouts.

Not Moisturising After Cleansing

Cleansing always leaves skin dry and tight. Hot water and aggressive cleansers worsen this feeling. After-shower moisturizing helps.

Using Harsh Ingredients

Sulphates, parabens, mineral oil, silicones, and synthetic perfumes can clog pores and irritate skin. Sulphates and alcohols dry skin. Sensitive skin reacts to harsh chemicals.
